How it works
Three steps, no runaround
You describe the problem once. We handle the matching so you are not calling five companies to find out who covers your ZIP code.
Tell us what is happening
Brand, model, the symptom and your ZIP code. A photo of the model label helps if you can take one.
We match a technician
We pass your details to an independent local technician who services the appliance type and your ZIP.
You decide on the repair
The technician confirms a visit and explains fees. After diagnosis you approve the repair, or you do not.

Six problems that bring most people here
If you know what is wrong but not what to do about it, these step-by-step guides help you separate a quick fix from a real repair.
Refrigerator Not Cooling
Warm fridge, cold freezer, or both warm — a ten-minute triage.
Read the guideRefrigerator Leaking Water
Puddles under the fridge, water in the crisper, or a wet dispenser area.
Read the guideIce Maker Not Working
No ice, small or hollow ice, clumps, jams or odd taste.
Read the guideDishwasher Not Draining
Water left in the tub after a cycle — filter, hose, air gap, disposal or pump.
Read the guideOven Not Heating
Oven will not heat, heats slowly, or never reaches temperature.
Read the guideStove Burner Not Working
One burner will not light, will not heat, or stays on.
Read the guideAn honest question
Repair it, or replace it?
The cheapest repair is not always the right one, and neither is a new appliance. A quote that is a small fraction of a replacement, on a machine that is otherwise sound, is usually worth paying. A quote that approaches the price of a new unit, on something at the end of its expected life, usually is not.
We built a short guide and a calculator that put your age, quote and replacement price side by side, so you can make the call without feeling pushed either way.
What to confirm with any technician
- Their service-call or diagnostic fee, and whether it is applied toward a repair.
- A written estimate that separates parts from labor before work starts.
- The warranty on parts and on labor, in writing.
- Their liability insurance, and whether gas connections are handled by an appropriately qualified professional.
- Who is responsible if the part they order does not fix the problem.

A referral service, and clear about it
Austin ApplianceFix does not employ technicians and does not perform repairs. We connect Austin homeowners with independent local technicians and publish guidance so you walk into the conversation informed.
That distinction matters to us. Any license, certification or manufacturer authorization belongs to the individual technician or company that holds it, and we will not describe it as ours. If you want to know what a particular technician holds, ask them directly. Read more about us.
Referral disclosure. We may receive a referral fee from the independent technicians we connect you with. It does not change the price the technician quotes you, and you are never obliged to hire anyone we refer.
Questions
Before you send a request
Is Austin ApplianceFix a repair company?
No. We are a referral service. We collect the details of your problem and connect you with an independent technician who covers your ZIP code. The technician performs the repair, sets the service fee and stands behind the work.
Does it cost anything to send a request?
Sending a request to us is free and carries no obligation. The technician will explain their own service-call fee, parts and labor before work begins, and you decide whether to go ahead.
How quickly can someone come out?
That depends on the technician’s schedule and your location. Ask for the earliest available appointment. We cannot promise same-day or a particular time window.
Which appliances can you help with?
Refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, dishwashers, ovens, ranges and stoves, cooktops, microwaves, garbage disposals and range hoods. If your appliance is not on the list, send a note and we will tell you whether we can help.
Can you tell me what a repair will cost?
We cannot quote a repair because we do not perform it. The technician provides the estimate. Our repair-or-replace guide explains how to judge a quote against the cost of a new appliance.
Which parts of Austin do you cover?
We route requests across seven regions and the ZIP codes listed on our service areas page, from Central Austin and Downtown to Lake Travis. Enter your ZIP in the request form to confirm.
